Dover port serves three routes in France, including Calais, Dunkirk and Boulogne. P&O Ferries and SeaFrance both serve Calais, while Norfolkline ferries run to Dunkirk and SpeedFerries to Boulogne.

P&O Ferries


P&O Ferries serves Calais, with up to 35 daily return crossings and a travel time of about 1 hour, 15 minutes, subject to weather conditions.


P&O now operates the new, well-equipped Pride of Canterbury, with an increased capacity for 2,000 passengers and 650 cars. Facilities aboard the Pride of Canterbury are outstanding, with money changers, self-service eateries, a great selection of shops, and video arcades for the children. P&O vessels also has excellent facilities for disabled passengers.

SeaFrance


SeaFrance runs to and from Calais 20 times a day and is faster than the P&O ships, with a journey time of 1 hour. Passenger capacity aboard the Renoir ships is 1,800 and a car carrying capacity of 280. The Renoir boats have a maximum speed of 18 knots and offer a luxurious interior with large open spaces and lots of light. There are shops, bars and restaurants on board, as well as games zones for children and disabled facilities for passengers with special needs.

Norfolkline


Norfolkline offers passengers 10 return crossings per day to Dunkirk in France, with a crossing time of 2 hours. The company operates two types of ship, the Northern Merchant and the Midnight Merchant, both of which have commendable carrying capacities and excellent facilities. There is a spacious lounge with sleeper seats, a bureau de change, a video lounge with satellite TV, and several shops and restaurants.

SpeedFerries


SpeedFerries travels to Boulogne five times per day and has a fast crossing time of 50 minutes. This time is achievable due to their SpeedOne boats' sleek catamaran design; they are modern 86-metre vessels with capacity for 800 passengers and 200 cars. SpeedOne offer excellent facilities and services and even have a premium service for premier class travellers.
